THE heirs of late tycoon Henry Sy kept their top spot in this year’s Forbes list of 50 richest Filipinos.

Forbes said Teresita Sy-Coson, Henry Sy Jr., and Hans, Herbert and Harley, saw their net worth reach $13 billion.

This is lower than their $14.4 billion net worth in 2023, reflecting the weaker peso, said Forbes.

In second place is ports magnate Enrique Razon Jr., whose net worth ballooned to $11.1 billion.

“Shares of his International Container Terminal Services, which has been in expansion mode, jumped by nearly 80 percent in the past year amid the global trade rebound,” the business magazine noted.

Meanwhile, real estate tycoon Manuel Villar came in third, with his net worth climbing to $10.9 billion. Forbes noted that his companies have capitalized on the property market’s hot streak by diversifying into high-rise apartments.

At the fourth spot is San Miguel Corporation’s Ramon Ang, whose net worth climbed to $3.8 billion.

“The (food and beverage) giant has repositioned itself as a nation builder with an ambitious push into infrastructure, winning bids for airports, toll roads and power plants,” Forbes said.

In fifth place is Isidro Consunji & siblings of DMCI Holdings, with a net worth of $3.4 billion.

Jollibee’s Tony Tan Caktiong, Lucio Tan, Jaime Zobel de Ayala, Puregold’s Lucio and Susan Co, and the Aboitiz family rounded up the top 10. (ABS-CBN News)
