BACOLOD City — Police swooped down on an alleged drug den in Brgy. 2-A in the municipality of Manapla yesterday.

But they failed to arrest their target, the owner of the alleged drug den himself, Jordan Vasquez.

Police said the suspect escaped, leaving behind seven sachets of suspected shabu, six mobile phones, improvised tooters, a disposable lighter and P1,840 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sale.

Senior Insp. Edencio Gregorio, municipal police chief, said they arrested one Joven Bolinas, 21, also of Brgy. 2-A.

Gregorio said Bolinas will be charged with visiting an alleged drug den.

Police seized all the items found inside Vasquez’s house.

Gregorio said Vasquez was on their watch list of suspected drug pushers and was placed under surveillance for months prior to the raid.

Manapla police staged the operation on the strength of a search warrant issued by Silay City Regional Trial Court Branch 40 Judge Dyna Trocio./PN
