ILOILO City – Two men tried to rob a taxi driver but failed.
Querubin Rabacal, 18, and John Crir Relado, 21, both of Barangay So-oc, Mandurriao district, were arrested after a foiled attempt to rob Richard Obida, 24, around 10 p.m. on Saturday.
The two hired Obida’s taxi from Mandurriao to the City Proper but when they reached Valeria Street, they declared a holdup.
They threatened Obida with a knife, said Chief Insp. Alexander Rosales, Police Station 1 chief.
It so happened that two policemen were in the area. The taxi driver sought their help.
Rabacal and Relado were taken to Police Station 1./PN
