CAPIZ – A thief carted away P99,392 in cash intended for bank deposit from a well-known restaurant inside a mall in Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City.
According to the cashier, identified only as “Mitch,” the incident occurred while she was attending to a customer at the counter. The money was temporarily placed nearby and it suddenly went missing.
A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage from the establishment showed a man wearing a blue polo and a facemask as the prime suspect. Further review of the footage also showed the possible involvement of four other individuals, two men and two women, who appeared to be accomplices.
Roxas City police were still analyzing the CCTV footage and gathering leads to identify the suspects.
The incident, meanwhile, raised concerns about security within the mall premises, prompting the management to review safety protocols to prevent similar occurrences in the future./PN
