ILOILO City – A major drug bust in this city led to the arrest of three high-value individuals and the seizure of P1.36 million worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Muelle Loney, City Proper district.

Police Captain Ryan Christ Inot, team leader of the Iloilo City Police Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit, identified the suspects as aliases “Totong”, 46, and “Totong Libat”, 44, both residents of the said village; and “Panoy”, 34, from Barangay Tambunac, San Enrique, Iloilo.

The three, Inot said, were apprehended around 12 noon on June 1. Approximately 200 grams of the said illegal substance were confiscated.

The suspects were detained at Police Station 1, facing charges under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, emphasized that the operation was the result of continuous and coordinated efforts between local law enforcement and the community.

“This operation serves as a reminder that the police will not stop until those involved in the illegal drug trade are brought to justice,” Wanky added./PN
