BACOLOD City – A man was killed while his brother was injured in a shooting yesterday in Purok Malinawon, Barangay Poblacion, Toboso, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.

The 23-year-old Stephen Mahilum – who sustained a gunshot wound on the head – was killed.

The shooting happened at around 12:15 a.m., according to Chief Inspector Pico, Toboso municipal police station officer-in-charge.

Mahilum’s 19-year-old brother Nico, on the other hand, sustained gunshot wounds on both hands.

Investigation revealed that the brothers were on their way home when the two unidentified suspects wearing bonnets opened fire at them and fled.

Police recovered two slugs of a gun of unknown caliber from the crime scene.

Pico said they have yet to identify the suspects and the motive in the shooting./PN
