ILOILO City— A high-value drug pushing suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dacutan, Dumangas, Iloilo.

The 39-year-old Dennis Deypalubos was arrested around 7:45 a.m. on Saturday for selling a sachet of shabu worth P500.

Deypalubos was No. 2 in Dumangas’ list of high-value drug suspects. He had been under surveillance for a long time, said Senior Inspector Charlie Sustento, Dumangas police chief.

Police recovered two big sachets of shabu with a street value of P3,000 from the suspect.

“He was not only selling illegal drugs. He also used them,” said Sustento.

Deypalubos was detained at the Dumangas police station lockup cell.

Recently, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) awarded the Dumangas police station for having the highest number of arrested drug personalities in the province.

However, Sustento failed to comply with the order of IPPO director, Senior Superintendent Cornelio Salinas to clear at least two drug-affected barangays in Dumangas within three months (June to August). He only cleared one – Barangay Tambobo.

The Dumangas chief, however, is optimistic of clearing another one – Barangay Jardin – by the end of this month./PN
