ILOILO City – Mayor Jerry Treñas is attending tonight’s dinner meeting of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in Malacañang with city mayors all over the country.

Treñas confirmed to Panay News he was flying to Manila after the inauguration of the newly-established Koi pond at La Paz Plaza this morning.

He was informed about the meeting by Cebu City’s Mayor Mike Rama and the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP).

Treñas said the meeting will also be joined by Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) officials tasked to gather concerns of cities.

He intends to bring up the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP) and some proposed projects like the Panay-Guimaras Bridge, road project from the fishing port to Oton, Iloilo City Hospital, more housing projects for the informal settlers, among others.

“I welcome it (the meeting) very much,” said Treñas.

For one, the Iloilo City Hospital needs to be funded after a law creating it has been signed by former President Rodrigo Duterte before he stepped down from office.

Iloilo City’s Cong. Julienne Baronda earlier explained that  Republic Act (RA) 11891 allocates P500 million as capital outlay for the Iloilo City Hospital and this shall be included in the budget of the Department of Health in the General Appropriation Act.

Treñas believes, aside from the city mayors, the President will also meet other local chief executives from provinces and municipalities./PN
