ILOILO — A tricycle driver was apprehended in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Balabag, Pavia town on Saturday, October 12.

Officers of the Pavia Municipal Police Station (MPS) identified the suspect as Roderick Panigua.

Approximately 70 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P476,000 were seized.

The suspect was detained at the Pavia MPS, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

According to Major Dadje Delima, chief of the Pavia MPS, Panigua was using his tricycle not only for transportation but also as a front for his illegal drug transactions.

“He used his tricycle as a means to distribute illegal drugs,” Delima stated.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect sourced his illegal drugs from known individuals, including siblings who were previously apprehended in another buy-bust operation in the same barangay on October 3./PN
