ILOILO City – Police were searching for a native of Dao, Capiz who allegedly shot a tricycle driver at a wake in Barangay Intungcan, Pontevedra.
The 42-year-old Rodel Estopia was at large as of Monday, a police report showed.
Estopia and Milandro Denosta, 40, of Intungcan grappled for a .38 revolver that resulted in the latter getting shot on the left hand at around 3 a.m. yesterday.
Estopia and nephew Rolito Bade were in a heated confrontation while playing cards when Denosta tried to pacify them.
This got Estopia mad. He drew out his firearm and trained it on Denosta’s stomach, but the latter grabbed the gun, which resulted in the grappling, police said, citing witnesses.
Denosta was taken to the Bailan District Hospital while Estopia fled, police said./PN
