
AKLAN – Law enforcement operatives arrested two of the province’s most wanted individuals in separate operations just over an hour apart on Thursday, May 15.
The first suspect, alias “JM,” 25, was arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Ibajay town by a joint team from the Aklan Police Provincial Office Tracker Team and Regional Intelligence Unit 6. He was ranked as the fourth most wanted person in Ibajay and was apprehended through a court-issued warrant for homicide.
Another team composed of officers from the Ibajay Municipal Police Station and the 2nd Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company arrested alias “Vin,” 28, a resident of Barangay San Jose, Ibajay. Vin was Aklan’s No. 2 most wanted person, facing a separate homicide charge.
Both suspects remain in police custody. Bail was set at P120,000 each for their temporary freedom.
Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky lauded the successful back-to-back arrests and emphasized the importance of sustained pressure on fugitives.
“These operations highlight the dedication of our tracker teams. We will not rest until every wanted person in Western Visayas is brought to justice,” he said./PN
