ILOILO City – Two men tagged as high-value drug suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation on 3rd Street, Juntado Subdivision, Barangay Calumpang, Molo district.

Thirteen plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 75 grams and worth approximately P510,000 were seized from aliases “Eral”, 27, and “Dayday”, 42, both residents of the district’s Barangay San Juan.

The said operation was executed around 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, by joint operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office’s (ICPO) Drug Enforcement Unit and Police Station 4.

The suspects are now detained and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, commended the intensified effort of the ICPO against illegal drugs and the support extended by the community and other law enforcement agencies.

“May our arrests in this campaign serve as a warning to those engaging in illegal activity to cease. If you opted to continue and if evidence warrant, surely you will be subjected to law enforcement operations,” Wanky added./PN
