VDS retains Media bowling title

BACOLOD City – The Visayan Daily Star won this year’s Negros Press Club Pagcor-sponsored Inter-Media 5-man Fellowship Bowling Tournament at the Super Bowling Lanes, Goldenfield Commercial Complex.

It won last year’s edition of the tournament, too.

The VDS team led by Hernand Garciniego took an early lead by topping the three games total in the elimination round.

The team took home a trophy and P6,000 in cash.

First runner-up was MBC Aksyon Radyo led by veteran bowler Boy Duran who won a P4,000 cash prize.
Negros Press Club – Past Presidents Team (NPC PP) combined bowlers led by Dolly Yasa to place second runner-up and take home P3,000 plus trophy .

Combined forces of the Negros Daily Bulletin and SCOOPers placed third runner-up and won P2,000 and a trophy.

VDS team also won the highest team single and triple.

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

In the men’s division, DyAF’s Boy Ciocon won the highest pinning with 89 pinfalls. NDB/SCOOP’s Henry Doble posted the highest single with 122 pinfalls while NPC-PP’s Cyrus Garde registered the highest triple with 316 pinfalls.

In the women’s division, Yasa of NPC-PP won the highest pinning (82) and highest triple while the highest single was garnered by Rowena Magturo of Daily Star.

Eleven teams joined the tournament with Pagcor as a guest team.

Other teams that participated were SunStar, Negros Weekly, ABS-CBN, Watchmen Daily Journal and GMA.
