ILOILO City – Victorias City, Negros Occidental has been dropped as a host for the inaugural FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup, with the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) announcing that all matches will now be staged exclusively at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The surprise decision came after FIFA and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) reassessed logistical requirements and operational demands for the tournament, set from November 21 to December 7.

“After a comprehensive review of logistical and operational considerations, and in light of the ongoing situations, it has been decided that Victorias City, Negros Occidental, will no longer serve as a host city for this edition of the tournament,” the PFF confirmed in a statement.

The federation explained that the adjustment aims to streamline preparations and ensure a seamless staging of the historic event. “The adjustment also reflects FIFA and the LOC’s joint objective to streamline and reduce the tournament’s footprint, ensuring the most efficient delivery of the event,” it added.

While the development deals a blow to Negros, the PFF stressed that the Philippines remains determined to deliver a world-class spectacle. “The PFF is fully committed to delivering a historic and memorable inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup,” the federation declared.

It also urged Filipinos to embrace the rare opportunity to host a global tournament, underscoring the nation’s deep love for the game. “We are eager to showcase the passion of the Filipino people for the sport and invite everyone to celebrate women’s futsal on the global stage in Pasig City.”
