THE OFFSEASON activities of the Houston Rockets continue following their trade of Cam Whitmore to the Washington Wizards in exchange for two second-round picks.

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the Rockets collaborated with Whitmore’s agent from WME Basketball to find him a new team over the past few weeks.

The 6-foot-7 Whitmore, who was the 20th pick by the Rockets in the 2023 NBA Draft, is expected to play a significant role for the Wizards, who are currently in a rebuilding phase.

The Wizards are also active in the offseason, having recently acquired CJ McCollum and Kelly Olynyk from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Jordan Poole and Saddiq Bey.

Meanwhile, the Rockets are not falling behind, as they not only acquired Kevin Durant in a trade but also strengthened their frontline by adding veterans Dorian Finney-Smith and Clint Capela.

In another transaction, the Memphis Grizzlies traded center Jay Huff to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for a second-round pick and a second-round pick swap.

As a stretch-5, Huff averaged nearly seven points per game while shooting 40% from the three-point line on 3.1 attempts in 11.7 minutes per game.

The goal of the NBA 2024-25 Season runner-up Pacers is to fill the void left by Myles Turner, who moved to the Milwaukee Bucks through free agency.

In related news, the Grizzlies and free agent center Jock Landale have also agreed to a deal to replace Huff. Landale was recently waived by the Rockets./PN
