GUIMARAS – The race for governor here is between Joaquin Carlos Rahman Nava of the National Unity Party (NUP) and Jose Ramon Cacho Jr. of the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL).
Nava had been a congressman and governor of Guimaras.
In the race for vice governor, incumbent Atty. John Edward Gando of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) is being challenged by Johny Bert Habaña of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP).
In the race for Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) member, here are the aspirants:
* First District – Roger Artajo (PFP), Raymond Gavileno (PDP-Laban), Cecile Gumarin (PDP-Laban), Perfecto Habaña Jr. (PDP-Laban), Pacifico Talabero (PDP-Laban), Aurelio Tonada (PDP-Laban)
* Second District – Alejandro Araneta (NUP), Alexcaesar Callado (PROMDI), Marylyn Edang (NUP), Felipe Nava (NUP), Luben Vilches (PDP-Laban)
In the race for Guimaras’ representative to the Lower House, reelectionist Cong Ma. Lucille Nava (PDP-Laban) is being challenged by Diosdado Veloso (KBL).
In the race for municipal mayor, here are the aspirants:
* Buenavista – Samuel Gumarin (PDP-Laban), Raquel Sambas (Independent)
* Jordan – Leopoldo Are (Independent), Ruben Corpuz (PDP-Laban), Cyril Galon (PFP)
* Nueva Valencia – Paul Vincent De La Cruz (PDP-Laban), Charry Galia (PFP)
