ANINI-Y, Antique – A wing van truck fell on its side, crushing a motorcycle-riding man and his wife in Barangay Magdalena here on Wednesday morning, Oct. 13.
The 69-year-old Ricardo “Ombok” Samones of Barangay San Roque and wife, 59-year-old Maria Lucile, died instantly.
The road mishap happened at around 7:20 a.m. Ricardo was driving a motorcycle with his wife as pillion passenger (back rider). The north-bound wing van truck loaded with PVC pipes suddenly fell on its side.
The truck driver, 71-year-old Ricky Azuelo of Barangay Dawis, Ajuy, Iloilo, sustained minor injuries. He was brought to the Anini-y municipal police station and could be facing a charge of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide./PN
