GUIMARAS – Police officers of Buenavista town here have yet to identify the woman found dead in a mangrove area in Barangay Tanag.
Local fishermen discovered the victim naked and in an advanced state of decomposition around 7 a.m. yesterday, January 16.
Captain Rene Mercado, chief of the Buenavista Municipal Police Station, described the victim as around 35 years old, approximately 5’3” in height, with shoulder-length hair.
Police found no wounds on the victim’s body except for several scratches believed to have been caused by staying in the waters for around two days.
Mercado added that she may have been from another place as no residents in the village identified her.
Police were calling on families with missing family members to check if the dead woman was their missing relative.
