Woman wanted for cybercrime nabbed in Capiz

CAPIZ – Police arrested a woman tagged as the third most wanted person in Maayon town on Sunday night, May 18.

The 53-year-old alias “Nor”, a resident of the town’s Barangay East Villaflores, was caught around 6 p.m. by the officers of the Maayon Municipal Police Station (MPS) through the strength of a warrant of arrest for six counts of violation of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

The suspect was detained at the Maayon MPS pending turnover to the court of jurisdiction.

The court recommended a bail of P10,000 for each count.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, praised the swift action of the Maayon police in locating and apprehending the suspect.

“We commend the dedication of our personnel in Maayon MPS. This arrest reflects our firm resolve to bring wanted persons to justice. We continue to urge the public to work with us in locating other fugitives who remain at large,” said Wanky./PN
