WV takes Palaro table tennis, arnis

STA. CRUZ, Laguna – Western Visayas won the secondary table tennis titles and elementary girls’ badminton team-tie, elementary girls’ arnis anyo (team) and secondary girls’ anyo event (individual) in the 2014 Palarong Pambansa in Brgy. Bubukal here.

Western Visayas won the gold in secondary girls’ table tennis.

Region 6 also ruled the secondary boys’ table tennis with National Capital Region settling for silver and CALABARZON and Central Visayas for the bronze.

In badminton, Region 6’s secondary division failed to twin any medals, while the elementary girls’ team dominated the elementary team-tie.

Western Visayas players were Leoj Darayunan, Angelie Ramos Sistima, Cheska Kay Lomugdang and Ellana Tan.

National Capital Region settled for silver and Northern Mindanao for the bronze.

Their counterparts in elementary boys – John Daniel Ababao, Justin Daniel angle, Sean Justin De Jesus and Carl Jericho Tan – settled for silver behind Central Visayas.

CALABARZON took the bronze in elementary boys’ team-tie.

Western Visayas failed to land a medal in the secondary badminton team-tie events.

In arnis, Mayeth Nicole Quiachon took the silver medal in anyo event (individual) elementary girls won by Bicol’s Kimberly Madrona.

Cristel Jane Villar also won the bronze medal.

Quiachon and teammate Grace May Estrella stamped their class to win the elementary girls’ anyo event (team) for Western Visayas.

Crystal AJ Britanico won the gold in secondary girls’ anyo event (individual). CALABARZON’s Mary Allin Aldeguer settled for silver and CAR Fely Ah-ul for bronze.

Anthony Ivan Villando and Fredjie Louise Bantiling won the gold medal in elementary boys’ anyo event (team)./PN
