CAPIZ – The No. 5 most wanted man in Western Visayas was arrested for four counts of qualified rape in Sitio Nursery, Barangay Roxas, Tapaz, Capiz, around 10:10 a.m. on October 7.
The arrest was made by operatives of the Tapaz Municipal Police Station (MPS) in coordination with the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) Regional Intelligence Division, Capiz Police Provincial Office Tracker Team Bravo, Capiz Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the 2nd Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company.
The suspect identified as alias “Toto,” 43, a farmer and resident of Tapaz, was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court in Mambusao, Capiz on October 6, 2025, with no bail recommended.
Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, director of PRO-6, lauded the joint police units for the successful operation.
“The arrest of alias ‘Toto’ represents a major victory in our fight against crime,” said Ligan. “It is a direct result of the relentless efforts of our law enforcement personnel and our commitment to ensuring that no criminal goes unpunished. We will continue to pursue those who threaten the safety of our communities, no matter where they may hide.”
The suspect is now under the custody of Tapaz MPS for proper disposition and further legal action./PN
