BACOLOD City – Two residents of Barangay 16 have been charged with robbery.

Mark Anthony Gregorio, 24, and John Francis Lingco, 20, were accused of robbing a boardinghouse on Araneta-Rosario streets, Barangay 15.

Charges were filed against them before the City Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday, said Senior Inspector Eugene Tolentino, Police Station 1 commander.

The suspects were detained in the Police Station 1 lockup cell.

Gregorio and Lingco barged into the room of the 27-year-old boarder Shelyn de la Cruz, a resident of Barangay Ara-al, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, on Monday, police investigation showed.

They took the following: a backpack worth P1,000 containing a passport and an office identification card (ID), among others; a flash drive worth P600; a wallet containing P6,000 cash and assorted IDs; a portable laminator worth P5,000; a shoulder bag worth P500; beauty products worth P2,500; a sunglass worth P2,000; two wristwatches worth P10,000; and assorted belongings and receipts, police said.

 

Officers led by Senior Police Officer 1 Benjamin Jamora arrested the suspects in a follow-up operation and seized the stolen items./PN
