MANILA – The coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic is not a reason for Philippines national football team head coach Scott Cooper to not keep on the radar his foreign prospects.
Cooper shared during an Across the Line Football Podcast that he continues keeping tabs on eight Filipino-foreign players whom he expects to beef up the Azkals in fixtures soon.
According to the English coach, Swedish-Filipino Jesper Nyholm and Filipino-German Gerrit Holtmann have already showed their interest to suit up for the national team, German-Filipino Raphael Obermair, Filipino-Aussie Jessie Curran, and Filipino-Ghanian Jefferson Tabinas are already working on their papers while Swiss-Filipino Michael Kempter is set to join the Azkals when international games resume.

Aside from them, other Filipino-foreign players that Cooper is eyeing to play for the national football team are Filipino-American Niko de Vera and Filipino-German Bernd Schipmann .
“All of these players can make their entry in the near future,” Cooper said. “We’ve been studying their abilities, and most importantly, their true desire to play for the Philippines.”/PN
