MANILA – Cardiff City FC and Philippine Azkals veteran goalkeeper Neil Etheridge will share his game expertise during a two-day virtual goalkeeping session via Zoom app.

According to Noel Marcaida, academy director of GKMarks Academy, Etheridge will serve as guest of the goalkeeper’s theory session at 5 p.m. on May 9 and goalkeeper coaches’ forum of the same afternoon on May 10.

“I am doing a virtual goalkeeping session, and goalkeeping theory and goalkeeping video analysis are part of my program,” Marcaida told Panay News.

He added: “The main focus of this event is the need to improve goalkeeping development in the country.”

Marcaida – former head coach of Kaya FC-Iloilo – said the two-day session will be open to goalkeeping coaches and for 20 goalkeepers only. Goalies of GKMarks and Loyola FC Academy have to pay P300, while it is P500 for others.

This weekend’s edition featuring Etheridge will just be the first installment of Marcaida’s program. He will try to invite more guests in the succeeding editions.
“We will be guesting known goalkeepers like Neil, in our sessions. It will be the privilege of the goalkeeper coaches and players in the country who will join our virtual sessions,” he said.

Goalkeepers and goalkeeping coaches who are interested in Marcaida’s sessions this week and the other future events of his academy may send their queries at gkmarksacademy@gmail.com./PN
