ILOILO City – Sta. Clarita International High School Primes reached the finals of the 2017 ILOPRISSA secondary boys basketball finals after a 76-59 win over St. Roberts International Academy Panda Rockets in the semifinals at the Iloilo Sports Complex.

Led by Ralph Bajon, Robert Begafria, Giann Paul Nahine, and Wilmer Dalumpines, the Primes waxed hot early on the offensive end on Thursday to build a double-digit advantage in the opening half and never looked back.

The Primes will have a rematch with Hua Siong College of Iloilo that defeated the University of San Agustin, 74-64, in the do-or-die championship game being played as of press time.

“I am happy with the outcome. The players followed our game plan well,” said Primes head coach Rodel Camacho. “I am hoping we can do the same in the championship match.”

Meanwhile, the USA claimed the championship in the tertiary men’s basketball following a 74-64 win over Iloilo Doctors College in Game 2 of the best-of-three finals.

In the elementary boys basketball, the Panda Rockets captured the crown following a 69-65 escape over Hua Siong. USA, meanwhile, was able to salvage the third place finish with a 48-40 win over Ateneo de Iloilo.
