MANILA – “Political bluff” was how Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV described the statement of President Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte instructing the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) to reveal his financial assets.

Alam niya na hindi naman ito gagalaw basta basta ng walang formal written request,” Trillanes on Saturday said in a statement.

According to him, the AMLC is not mandated to disclose any financial information to public.

Duterte should instead sign a waiver allowing the public to scrutinize his bank accounts, he added.

Tama na ‘yang mga bola mo Mr. President, buksan mo na kung wala lang tinatago,” Trillanes said.

On Friday during a dinner with the members of Philippine Military Academy Class ’67, Duterte said he has directed the AMLC to reveal his current financial health.

“I’ve ordered AMLC and everybody to give information sa ano ang what’s my worth in this, in terms of pesos in this planet so hindi ko kayo hiyain,” the former Davao City mayor said.

Duterte explained he only receives his salary and does not accept allowances./PN
