ILOILO City – An Isuzu truck hit a motorcycle in Barangay Inangayan, Santa Barbara, Iloilo, a police report showed.

The incident led to the death of the motorcycle driver, 50-year-old Lhemor Plauta of Barangay Balibagan Este, Santa Barbara.

The truck (plate number YCR-622) laden with sacks of palay was bound for Barangay Poblacion, Santa Barbara from San Miguel town at the time, around 4:20 p.m. on Jan. 11.

It sideswiped a passenger tricycle before hitting the motorcycle, the police report stated, citing investigation. It also lost its footbrake, the report added.

Plauta sustained injuries on the body. He was taken to the Western Visayas Sanitarium in Santa Barbara but the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
