BACOLOD City – A man was killed and another was wounded in a stabbing incident in Barangay Cartagena, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
The 35-year-old resident Joemar Salibio died of stab wounds on the body, while his brother Joemart, 38, sustained stab wounds on the right arm, a police report showed.
Police tagged the 47-year-old Nilo Galanido of Barangay Bulata, Cauayan, Negros Occidental as suspect.
According to police investigators, Joemar was sleeping inside a nipa hut when Galanido allegedly attacked him using a bladed weapon around 7:30 p.m. on March 5. Joemart tried to rescue his brother.
Joemar and Joemart were rushed to the Merciditas J. Montilla District Hospital in Sipalay City were the attending physician declared the former as “dead on arrival.”
Galanido, meanwhile, was detained in the custodial facility of the Sipalay City police station after a manhunt operation.
