TEN teams are set to compete in the 15th Iloilo Paraw Regatta National Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament from Feb. 17 to 18 at the Joe III Garden at the Villa beachfront in Arevalo, Iloilo City.

Moises Salomon of the Iloilo City Sports Development Division said the teams will be divided into two groups. The top two from each group will advance to the semifinals, whose winners will advance to the knockout finals.

Matches for the two-day beach volleyball event are from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  The public may watch them for free.

Set to participate are Negrense Bea Tan and Charo Soriano of Beach Volleyball Republic team and Negrense Gizelle Tan and Amy Ahomiro of Perlas-BanKo Lady Spikers.

Competing for Iloilo are Dhannalyn Mae Demontaño and Jackielyn Estoquia of Team Iloilo, Glaudine Trongcoso and Desa Mae Puyo of Central Philippine University, and Ritchelle Amuan and Lyca Dasmarinas of ILOPRISAA.

Other teams include Alexa Polidario and Erjane Magdato of University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Margie Senas and Bianca Lizares of Bacolod City, Sheryl Laborte and Loren Gamboa of St. John’s Institute, Mahris Cosain and Patricia Escares of University of St. La Salle, and Dyan Daratinao and Janelle Cabahug of Southwestern University.

The champion tandem will receive P25,000 while the second, third and fourth placers will have P12,000, P7,000 and P5,000, respectively./PN
