100 bettors almost shared Ultra Lotto record jackpot

MANILA – A hundred bettors nearly had a share of the more-than-a-billion-peso jackpot of the 6/58 Ultra Lotto game on Sunday night.

They had five of the six winning number combination 40-50-37-25-01-45 that had the P1,180,622,508 prize, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office said Monday.

Moreover, 6,046 bettors were two numbers short of winning the jackpot and had to settle for P2,240 each, while 143,449 bettors guessed three numbers correct for a consolation prize of P20 each.

Two bettors won the record jackpot prize.

One of them was from Legaspi City, Albay, who placed their bet via System 9 (nine-number combination) while the other was from Borongan, Eastern Samar, who betted via standard format (six numbers).

They will equally split the amount but not before a 20-percent tax is deducted from it, as provided for under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Act.

The 6/58 Ultra Lotto jackpot reached the record amount since two bettors won and shared the P331.9-million jackpot on Feb. 16. The game is drawn every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

1 WINNER IN 6/42

The lone bettor guessed the right number combination 6-34-40-10-32-2 for the P83,564,210 jackpot.

Thirty-nine bettors got five numbers and won P25,000 each; 2,689 bettors had P690 each for four correct numbers; while 49,237 had P20 each for guessing right three numbers./PN
