ROXAS City – Around 1,000 beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) Program from this city underwent mass orientation on Wednesday, February 19.
DOLE spearheaded the orientation along with the city’s Public Employment Services Office (PESO).
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said the budget for the TUPAD Program was taken from the grant received by the PESO-Roxas City as one of the nominees for the Best PESO in the country.
“Ang alokasyon nga ini sang Roxas City sa TUPAD nagikan sa grant nga nabaton sang aton PESO. Kadungan sini, ang aton kasimanwa nga si Paolo Roxas nakapaabot sang bulig para sa nagkalain-lain nga sektor nga kulang ang kita kag nagakinahanglan,” the mayor said.
The beneficiaries would do community work for 10 days. Each beneficiary will receive a daily minimum wage.
“Pagkatapos sang 10 nila ka adlaw nga pagtrabaho sa barangay mabaton nila ang ila nga sweldo nga makabulig sa pang-adlaw-adlaw nga gasto sang ila pamilya,” Dadivas added./PN
