ILOILO City – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has requested a 12-hour scheduled power interruption within the franchise area of MORE Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power) on Sunday, May 31.
This temporary shutdown is necessary to carry out uprating works for the energization of the 3rd 100 MVA power transformer that is part of the ongoing upgrade of NGCP’s Iloilo Substation.
Part of their activity involves the shutdown of one 100 MVA power transformer, leaving only a single temporary transformer to serve the consumers. Because of this limited capacity, NGCP may implement Manual Load Dropping (MLD) if needed to prevent the power transformer overloading.
As a result, consumers served by the Mandurriao, Megaworld, and Jaro substations will experience power interruptions. MORE Power will also have ride-on activities in relation to the interruption.
Schedule of power interruptions:
6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (12 hours)
* Affected feeders: portion of Jaro Feeder 2 and portion of Mobile Feeder 2
* Affected Jaro areas: barangays Balantang, Buhang, Camalig, MV Hechanova, Our Lady of Fatima, and Our Lady of Lourdes
6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (four hours)
* Affected feeders: whole of Mandurriao Feeder 4, whole of Mobile Feeders 2 and 3, whole of Jaro Feeder 1, whole of La Paz Feeder 5, portion of Megaworld Feeder 4, and portion of La Paz Feeder 7
* Affected areas: La Paz (Bantud, Burgos-Mabini, Jereos, Laguda, Magdalo, Railway, and San Nicolas) and Jaro (Sambag and San Isidro)
6 a.m. to 8 a.m. (two hours)
* Affected feeders: whole of Megaworld Feeders 2, 3, 5, and 6; portion of Megaworld Feeder 4, and portion of Jaro Feeder 2
* Affected areas: whole barangays Tacas and Ungka in Jaro; portion of barangays Dungon B, MV Hechanova, Quintin Salas, and Tabuc Suba in Jaro; and portion of barangays Ungka I, Ungka II, and Mali-ao in Pavia

Power may be restored earlier than scheduled once the maintenance works are finished ahead of time.
