NUEVA VALENCIA, Guimaras – As of June 22, 1,307 residents here have received their second dose of the vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
These residents were healthcare workers, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities.
They were vaccinated at Nueva Valencia’s covered gym with Sinovac and/or AstraZeneca vaccines.
Included in these fully vaccinated residents was Mayor Emmanuel Galila who received his second dose on June 22.
He got his first dose of CoronaVac (Sinovac) on May 25.
Galila urged his constituents to have themselves vaccinated, too, and just contact their Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) or the Rural Health Unit.
He again reminded them to follow the minimum public health standards – wearing of facemask and face shield, physical distancing and proper washing of hands.
As of June 22, this town had eight active COVID-19 cases./PN
