
BACOLOD City – Around 150 grams of suspected shabu approximately valued at P1.020 million were confiscated from drug peddlers in a buy-bust operation at Villa Angela Subdivision, Barangay Villamonte here yesterday morning.
Aliases “Mariel,” 30, and “Naldo,” 23, both residents of Barangay 20 in this city were collared by operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office’s City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) around 4 a.m. after they handed a plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer for P1,000.
Also recovered were eight more plastic sachets and two knot-tied plastic bags containing the same prohibited substance.
The suspects were detained. They will face charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, lauded the collaboration of the police and the community in the fight against illegal drugs in the city.
“We extend our deep appreciation to the members of the community for providing information that led to the identification and arrest of the suspects,” he said./PN
