2 bombs seized in Molo

ILOILO City – In Zone 6, Barangay Calumpang, Molo district, a resident was caught in possession of two homemade bombs, locally known as dalogdog, a police report showed.

The 34-year-old trisikad driver Ronnie Macoy faces a charge for violation of Republic Act 9516, which penalizes the unlawful possession of explosives, the report stated.

If charged and proven guilty, Macoy may face reclusion perpetua, or up to 14 years of imprisonment, based on the law.

Macoy was caught by Molo police station officers and village watchmen (tanods) in Barangay Calumpang at around 9:30 p.m. on March 29, Maundy Thursday.

He was apparently among those who physically attacked a man named Ryan Gabuelo, who sought assistance at the barangay hall, a police report stated.

When a team of village watchmen led by tanod Roger Jangayo responded to the incident, the attackers scampered to different directions, leaving Macoy behind.

The tanods turned Macoy over to the Molo police station./PN
