ILOILO City – A resident of Barangay Jamin-ay, Calinog, Iloilo faces an illegal possession of firearm charge, a police report showed.
Municipal police officers arrested the 32-year-old William Cabawatan in their village at around 7:45 p.m. on Good Friday.
Cabawatan was accused of “creating alarm and scandal” by indiscriminately firing a gun, the police report stated.
Police seized from him a .9mm revolver, without serial number, loaded with two live bullets, and two fired cartridge cases.
The Calinog police took the suspect in custody.
Cabawatan may be charged with violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, the police report stated./PN
