SEBASTE, Antique – Two men from Sitio Banglid, Barangay Bacalan in this town remain missing nearly two weeks after they were reportedly swept away by floodwaters at the height of Tropical Storm “Crising.”
The missing individuals were identified as Leonardo F. Alobog and Allan O. Zona, both 30 years old. They were last seen on July 17, 2025 amid torrential rains and severe flooding in the area.
According to a companion, the two were caught in the strong currents triggered by the storm and have not been seen since.
In a continued effort to locate the missing men, a coordinated aerial search and rescue operation was conducted on July 28 by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), in collaboration with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Philippine Air Force (PAF), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Sebaste.
The search operation spanned areas from the municipalities of Anini-y to Libertad, but yielded no leads on the whereabouts of Alobog and Zona.
Local authorities are calling on nearby communities and the general public to remain alert and cooperative, urging anyone with information or possible sightings to immediately report to local officials or disaster response teams.
The families of the missing men, along with local officials, continue to hope for any breakthrough as efforts to find them persist./PN
