ILOILO City – In Barangay Villa Anita here, two snatching suspects were arrested. A third companion managed to flee.
Twenty-two-year-olds Ian Shalom Matullano and Angelo Jan Mayormente, both from La Paz district, were accused of stealing a man’s cellular phone worth P13,990 around 8 p.m. on Thursday.
The victim was Herson Airraw, 27, of Barangay Wilson here.
Police said Airraw and a friend were waiting for a ride when three motorcycle-riding suspects stopped in front of them.
One of the suspects allegedly approached Airraw and snatched his cellular phone.
Police said the suspects tried to escape but Airraw and his friend were able to chase them.
Two policemen in the area responded.
The stolen item was recovered from Mayormente.
A complaint for theft would be filed against the suspects./PN
