The police recovered P247,00 cash from Alcarde, according to Staff Sergeant Gonzalo Plete of the Passi City police station.

It was believed to be a part of the P1.5 million robbed from hardware store employees Joan Sequito, 39, of Barangay Hilwan, Calinog, and Cherry Tabilid, 36, of Barangay Delgado, Calinog.

Plete said they were able to identify the suspects through closed-circuit television camera footages and the help of witnesses

“They did not resist arrest,” Plete said

The two suspects were also positively identified by Sequito and Tabilid who were both employees of Lalac hardware store.

Suspect Pineda was a co-worker.

Around 1 p.m. of March 28 when both hardware store employees were on their way to the bank onboard a motorcycle that Sequito was driving, a motorcycle crashed into them.

Sequito and Tabilid fell from their motorcycle. One of the men on the motorcycle that hit them quickly grabbed the hardware employees’ backpack where the money was kept, then both unidentified men left immediately./PN
