ANTIQUE – Combined elements of the Antique Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Unit and Culasi municipal police station separately arrested two wanted persons in Culasi on July 12 and 13.
Julito Sumande, 74, was a resident of Barangay Malacañang, Culasi. He was served with an arrest warrant on July 12.
Sumande was charged with violation of Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).
The warrant of arrest was issued by Presiding Judge Josefina Muego of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 13, just this June 10, 2022.
For his temporary liberty, the court set Sumande’s bail bond at P180,000.
It was unclear as of this writing if Sumande was able to post bail.
On July 13, yet another wanted person was served with an arrest warrant in Culasi – theft suspect Gerald Gumawa, 34, of Barangay Valderrama.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Presiding Judge Melinaire L. Jalipa-Diamante of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court (Culasi-Sebaste, Antique) on June 9, 2022.
The court set the suspect’s bail bold at P6,000 for his temporary liberty./PN
