20 Bacolod students spirit possessed?

BACOLOD City – The City Health Office’s (CHO) mental health division will verify the alleged case of mass hysteria in Barangay Granada.

On Tuesday afternoon, classes were suspended at the Fr. Gratian Murray Integrated School after 20 female students from Grade 8 and Grade 9, were allegedly possessed by evil spirits.

School principal Dionesio Lindugan said the affected students were brought to a local church to undergo exorcism.

Other students were brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in this city for treatment but were also discharged after an hour.

CHO psychologist Dr. Joeanne Marie Jomalesa said they were still investigating if the incident had a “spiritual aspect” or a “psychiatric case.”

She added it could be a case of “mass hysteria.”

“We still need to get further details before we could evaluate and proceed with intervention,” said Jomalesa “We will first talk with the minor who started the incident in order to get her side.”

She added the intervention phase will be conducted to the other affected students by next week./PN
