THE 2022 National Science and Technology Week (2022 NSTW) celebration in Western Visayas will award its best researchers through Idlab Awards on Nov. 19.
Spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology VI (DOST VI) and the Regional Research, Development and Innovation Committee (RRDIC) of the Regional Development Council (RDC), Idlab Awards is the first regional R&D awards aiming to honor scientific researchers from all over Western Visayas. These are researchers who have achieved significant success in their respective fields.
Idlab was launched back in August 2022 and since then, have pooled nominations from the academe and partner consortia. Nominations for Idlab were categorized into four categories, namely: (1) Basic Research; (2) Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources; (3) Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology; and, (4) Health Research.
As the main event of this year’s NSTW, the Idlab Awards Night will not only showcase the best research undertakings but will likewise highlight the growing research and development (R&D) culture in the region.
