ILOILO City — Law enforcers apprehended three high-value suspects and seized 85 grams of alleged shabu worth around P578,000 in a buy-bust operation in Zone 15, Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo district.

Police identified the suspects as aliases “Vince,” 18; “Prince,” 20; and “Nonoy,” 26, all residents of Arevalo.

Officers of the Iloilo City Police Office’s City Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO-CDEU) executed the operation at around 12:55 p.m. on October 16. Confiscated were nine plastic sachets of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and non-drug-related evidence.

The suspects are currently in police custody. They will be charged for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Brigadier General Randulf T. Tuaño, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), reaffirmed the police force’s firm stance in the campaign against illegal drugs, emphasizing the protection of the youth.

“Hindi natin hahayaang nakawin ng ilegal na droga ang kinabukasan ng ating kabataan. Bawat matagumpay na operasyon ay dagok sa suplay ng droga at hakbang tungo sa mas ligtas na komunidad. Patuloy tayong kikilos nang may talino, tiyaga, at determinasyon upang maputol ang daloy ng ilegal na droga at matiyak na ligtas ang ating mga komunidad,” stated Tuaño.

PRO-6 pledged to further intensify intelligence-driven operations and maintain strong coordination with partner agencies and local communities to dismantle drug distribution networks across the region./PN
