ANTIQUE – Five individuals were injured after three motorcycles figured in an accident in Barangay Catungan I, Sibalom town on Wednesday, April 24.

Sibalom police identified the injured as driver Daniel Jan Ardales, 20, and his backrider Alexander Narciso from Patnongon town; driver Lourdes Bacera, 58, of Barangay Tigbalua I, Sibalom; and driver Efren Macabilis, 20, of Tobias Fornier, and backrider Elmor Nones, 20, from Anini-y town.

The accident happened around 6:30 p.m.

Police Staff Sergeant Jaysser Vagilidad, traffic investigator of the Sibalom Municipal Police Station, said Bacera was at the crossing heading to Barangay Tigbalua 1 when a speeding motorcycle driven by Ardales hit the former’s motorcycle.

A few seconds later, Macabilis, who was following Ardales, was thrown from his motorcycle after he tripped on the latter’s motorcycle.

Vagilidad said the victims were brought to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in San Jose de Buenavista town but Nones was released after treatment.

Sibalom police further said that the families of Bacera, Narciso, Macabilis, and Nones agreed not to file charges against Ardales, provided the latter would shoulder the four’s hospital expenses./PN
