BACOLOD City – For alleged illegal gambling, three residents of Barangay Punta Mesa, Manapla, Negros Occidental were arrested.
Police chanced upon Jovel Padernal, 53; Yolanda Leganipa, 64; and Maxima Padernal, 75, playing the card game tong-its around 4 p.m. on July 1.
They also seized the playing cards and P220 cash.
The suspects would be charged with violation of Presidential Decree 1602 that outlaws illegal gambling./PN
