ILOILO – A 38-year-old man was arrested in an antidrug buy-bust operation in Purok 1, Barangay Gogo, Estancia town around 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16.
Suspect Je-ar Antonio Dela Cruz, alias “Pay-ang”, of Barangay Daculan, Estancia sold to a police poseur buyer a sachet of suspected shabu for P3,000.
The Estancia Municipal Police Station (MPS) recovered 10 additional plastic sachets of suspected shabu. All, including the buy-bust item, weighed more or less 30 grams and valued at P204,000.
The operation was carried out by the Station Drug Enforcement Team, led by officer-in-charge, Police Lieutenant Renzo A. Martinez, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The suspect, now in the custody of the Estancia police, faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
