VALDERRAMA, Antique – A 4.7 magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Antique early morning yesterday.
The epicenter was in the town of Valderrama where the shaking was felt at Intensity IV around 4:49 a.m., according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The tremor was felt at Intensity II in the provincial capital of San Jose de Buenavista.
The quake was tectonic in origin, according to Phivolcs.
At around 4:55 a.m. a magnitude 3.9 aftershock was felt in Valderrama. It was also felt in San Jose de Buenavista.
According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Operation Center, the quake had no significant impact or effect to structures.
Nevertheless, onsite monitoring and assessment would be conducted by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Valderrama./PN
