BACOLOD City – Police caught four persons engaging in illegal gambling in Barangay 2, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
They were residents Dexter Ilalto, 43; Vicente Nicor, 59; Renato Onate, 54; and Marlyn Paclibar, 52, police said.
The suspects were nabbed after officers chanced upon them playing mahjong around 9 p.m. on April 16.
Recovered from their possession were a set of mahjong tiles and P581 bet money.
They were detained in the lockup cell of the Victorias City police station, facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling./PN
