BACOLOD City – A 50-bed hospital will soon rise in Cadiz City, Negros Ocicdental following a ceremonial groundbreaking held yesterday.
To be named Cadiz City Medical Center (CCMC), the P270-million hospital will be constructed in the city’s Barangay Tinampaan. Construction will last within 667 days.
Among the key features of CCMC include a minor operating room, emergency room, clinical laboratory, isolation room, 8-bed medical ward, isolatiom room, and pharmacy, among others.
CCMC is the second hospital in Cadiz next to the provincial government-run St. Anne’s Hospital.
“We need to have this hospital, considering now the unprecedented growth of Cadiz. So as the city rapidly grows, our population is growing too. Therefore, having CCMC soon is the best move in order to respond to the needs of time, especially of health aspect,” Mayor Salvador Escalante, Jr. said.
Cadiz is the third component city in Negros Occidental to have a city-managed hospital next to its contemporaries – cities of San Carlos and Bago.
The three cities are also reclassified by the Department of Finance from second to first class component cities last December.
“CCM, therefore, is the first ‘grand showcase’ after the reclassification of our beloved Cadiz,” the mayor said.
