ILOILO City – In Barangay Gaub, Cabatuan, Iloilo, six residents were arrested for alleged cock derby.
They were Lorenzo Librando Jr., Many Madrid, Jessie Cabelas, Renato Moscaya, Jose Bordon, and Eduardo Cordero.
Police chanced upon them engaging in illegal cockfighting around 6:45 a.m. yesterday.
Recovered from the area were P20,350 bet money, two game fowls and other paraphernalia, a police report showed.
The suspects were detained in the lockup cell of the Cabatuan police station. They face charges for violation of Presidential Decree 449, or the Cockfighting Law of 1974./PN
